Our family holds a distinguished position as well-known Hejazi merchants of Turkish ancestry, residing in Madinah. Over the years, we have played significant roles in various government offices in Saudi Arabia.
Dr. Mohammad Khashoggi, a notable figure in our family’s history, served as the personal physician to King Abdulaziz Ibn Saud, the founding father of modern Saudi Arabia. A graduate of the prestigious Sorbonne University in Paris, France, Dr. Mohammad Khashoggi made remarkable contributions to the kingdom. He introduced the first X-ray machine to Saudi Arabia and, in collaboration with the Juffali family, imported the country’s first electricity generator.
Our family has always been known for its hospitality, opening our home in Madinah to accommodate Muslim pilgrims. This tradition of service and community support is a cornerstone of our legacy.
In the realm of business, our family founded Rotana Holdings, playing a pivotal role in the early days of media production in the kingdom. Rotana Holdings was eventually sold to Kingdom Holdings in the mid-1990s. We also established PEMCO and the Law Firm of Motasem Khashoggi, further diversifying our business ventures.
