Born: 1970 Education: LLB (Bachelor in Law), King Abdulaziz University, Jeddah, Saudi Arabia; LLM (Masters in Law) Harvard Law School, Massachusetts, USA After an Associateship with Weil, Gotshal & Manges in Washington DC, Motasem worked as the Senior Legal Advisor to the Minister of Industry and Electricity in Riyadh from 1996-2000. In addition, he founded the Motasem Khashoggi Law firm in 1997 (www.khashoggilaw.com), which remains one of the leading legal practices in Saudi Arabia, principally advising Government and Sovereign institutions with regards to the transition of the Kingdom’s infrastructure and business environment. For nearly 20 years, Mr. Khashoggi has served as a senior legal advisor in numerous areas of the Saudi legislative and regulatory process. He played a key role in drafting the Saudi Foreign Investment Law, the privatization of the Saudi Electric Company, advising on energy and power issues in the Saudi-WTO treaty establishment and developing Saudi commercial law. He is currently the CEO and Managing Partner of Motasem Khashoggi Law Firm. Motasem is a member of the Jeddah Chamber of Commerce Committee of Law, the Arab Lawyers Association, the International Lawyers Association, and the Young Presidents Association.
